Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan asked the peacekeepers to discharge their duties with discipline, honesty, professionalism and sincerity to bring good reputation for Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) as well as the country.
The Air Chief said this while addressing the contingent members of the BANATU-15 (the 15th Bangladesh Aviation Contingent being deployed to the UN Peacekeeping Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo) at the Air Headquarters on Tuesday.
“The Chief of Air Staff also participated in a special munajat there arranged for the success of the contingent,” said a release of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate in the evening.
The BAF is on the verge of replacing its BANATU-14, MONUSCO, DR Congo contingent. Group Captain Mohammad Salim Javed will lead the BANATU-15 contingent, it mentioned.
Total 35 members of BANATU-15 contingent are scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport here for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on 25 January, while the rest of 27 contingent members will depart for the DRC on 2 February 2026.
Principal staff officers, air officer commanding of Dhaka area, senior BAF officers of Air Headquarters and Bases, among others, were present on the occasion.
The BAF deployed 01 x C-130B aircraft and necessary ground support equipment in the mission area, the ISPR added.
