The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 has framed charges against seven individuals, including Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, over alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July Mass Uprising.

The three-member tribunal, chaired by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, passed the order, rejecting the discharge petitions filed by the accused.

The tribunal has scheduled 17 February for the submission of opening statements and the recording of depositions from prosecution witnesses.

Senior prosecutor Mizanul Islam and prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim represented the prosecution during the hearing, while Advocates Lokman Hawlader and Ishrat Jahan appeared for the defence.

The second tribunal had initially fixed 18 January to deliver the order on the indictment.

The other accused in the case are Awami League Joint General Secretary A F M Bahauddin Nasim; former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat; Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil; and the President and General Secretary of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, Saddam Hossain and Wali Asif Inan, respectively.

On 18 December 2025, the tribunal issued arrest warrants against the seven accused. The ICT-2 has now formally taken cognisance of the charges filed against them.
