Postal ballots have reached the addresses of 6,83,122 expatriate voters who registered through the Postal Vote BD mobile app to cast their votes in the 13th National Election and the referendum.
Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the Out of Country Voting System Development and Implementation (OCV-SDI) project confirmed the information on Sunday.
He said as of 4pm on 25 January, a total of 6,83,122 ballots reached the countries where the expatriates concerned are residing. Of them, 4,37,145 expatriate voters have received their ballots, while 3,53,739 voters have already completed voting.
A total of 2,84,431 ballots have been deposited by expatriate voters in the respective countries’ post offices or mailboxes. So far, 16,274 ballots have arrived in Bangladesh.
Salim Khan added that a total of 15,33,683 voters—both at home and abroad—have registered through the Postal Vote BD app to vote in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum.
