A total of 428,828 postal ballots from expatriates, registered via the Postal Vote BD app, have arrived in Bangladesh for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election (JS) and Referendum.
Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the OCV-SDI project on expatriate voter registration, told BSS that, as of 11:00 AM on Sunday, 766,862 ballots had been sent to overseas voters registered through the app. Of these, 527,450 voters have received their ballots, and 503,441 have already cast their votes.
In addition, 484,765 expatriate voters have returned their ballots to local postal services abroad, with 318,125 already received by returning officers in Bangladesh.
Domestic postal voting has also begun. So far, 760,898 ballots have been dispatched to voters inside the country, of which 443,542 have been received. Among these, 388,898 votes have been cast, and 344,826 submitted to post offices or mailboxes. Returning officers have received 152,077 domestic ballots to date.
Khan added that a total of 1,533,684 voters, both abroad and within Bangladesh, have registered to vote via postal ballots through the app.
