Police personnel deployed at polling centres for the 13th National Parliamentary Elections and referendum on Friday will wear concealed body cameras as part of enhanced security measures, the Election Commission (EC) said on Thursday.
The information was disclosed in a statement signed by EC Director (Public Relations) M Ruhul Amin Mallik.
According to the statement, the EC will continuously monitor polling centres through closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras. Drones will also be deployed to monitor surrounding areas.
The commission said any activities aimed at creating disorder or anarchy would be recorded, and strict action would be taken against those involved.
The EC urged all concerned to refrain from engaging in any unlawful activities during the election process.
