Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has conveyed his greetings to the people of Bangladesh and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, urging all to observe the sanctity of the sacred period.

In a message issued on Sunday, Dr Yunus described Ramadan as a time for self-discipline, sacrifice, spiritual reflection and acts of compassion.

He noted that fasting, charity and worship during this month offer believers the opportunity to purify their souls, strengthen bonds of harmony and seek the mercy and forgiveness of Almighty Allah.

The Chief Adviser highlighted that Ramadan serves as a reminder for both individuals and the nation to refrain from injustice, corruption, and wrongdoing, and to strive toward building a just and welfare-oriented society.

“Alongside worship, Ramadan teaches morality and humanity through the principles of truthfulness, integrity, justice and empathy,” he said, emphasising the importance of caring for the poor and underprivileged.

Dr Yunus called on the nation to embrace the spirit of the month, saying: “Let us be inspired by the teachings of Ramadan, avoid extravagance, hostility and hatred, and devote ourselves to increased prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, repentance and good deeds to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah. Let us uphold the sanctity of this blessed month.”

He prayed that Allah accept the fasting, prayers, charity and righteous deeds of all believers, grant them the ability to implement the lessons of Ramadan in their daily lives, forgive and protect everyone, and bless the nation with peace, prosperity and harmony.
