Twelve platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh have been deployed in and around the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban area to ensure tight security ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of parliament (MPs) and the new cabinet, according to a BGB press release.

The deployment forms part of a comprehensive security plan to maintain law and order during the high-profile state event.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be attended by foreign guests, senior political leaders, government officials, diplomats and other distinguished personalities.

BGB personnel have been stationed at key entry and exit points surrounding the Parliament complex, while law enforcement agencies, including the police and other security forces, are working in coordination to closely monitor the situation.

Authorities said additional surveillance measures, including CCTV monitoring and patrol teams, have been strengthened in and around the area.

Officials emphasised that the security arrangements are precautionary, aimed at ensuring a peaceful and smooth ceremony.

Traffic on adjacent roads may face temporary restrictions, and commuters have been advised to follow instructions issued by law enforcement agencies.

The swearing-in ceremony will mark the formal beginning of the new government’s tenure following the 13th national election.
