The ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has finalised a 49-member cabinet comprising 25 full ministers and 24 state ministers under the leadership of the party Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The oath-taking ceremony will be held on Tuesday afternoon at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, where President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath to the newly appointed members of the cabinet.
Among those appointed as full ministers are Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, AJDM Zahid Hossain, Khalilur Rahman (Technocrat), Abdul Awal Mintu, Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad, Mizanur Rahman Minu, Khandakar Abdul Muktdir, Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Zahiduddin Swapon, Aminur Rashid (Technocrat), Afroza Khanum Rita, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Asadul Habib Dulu, Md Asaduzzaman, Zakaria Taher Sumon, Dipon Dewan, ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul, Farid Mahbub Anam and Sheikh Robiul Alam.
The state ministers appointed to the cabinet include M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Anindya Islam Amit, Shariful Alam, Farhad Hossain Azad, Shama Obaid, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Habibur Rashid Habib, Rajib Ahsan, Azizul Bari Helal, Mir Shahe Alam, Junaid Saki, Ishrak Hossain, Farzana Sharmin Putul, Faridul Islam, Nurul Haque Nur, Yaser Khan Chowdhury, M Iqbal Hossain, M A Muhit, Ahmed Sohel Manzur, Boby Hajjaj, Ali Newaz Khiam and Aminul Haque (Technocrat).
Party insiders said the cabinet reflects a mix of senior political figures, experienced parliamentarians and technocrats, as the BNP prepares to formally assume office.
The new government is expected to outline its policy priorities shortly after the swearing-in ceremony.
