Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu on Friday urged officials to carry out their duties with integrity, efficiency and a strong sense of constitutional responsibility.

He made the remarks at a views-exchange meeting with divisional and district-level officials of the Rajshahi Division, held in the conference room of the Rajshahi Circuit House.

Speaking as the chief guest, the minister said:

“I am a son of the soil of Rajshahi. We are colleagues; none of us is anyone’s boss. You are constitutionally entrusted with responsibilities — those duties must be carried out properly.” He emphasised that the law is equal for all, adding, "Even if my own child violates the law, necessary action must be taken.”

Addressing administrative officials, he warned that negligence in duty would not be tolerated and that administrative activities must be conducted on the basis of integrity, competence, and merit.

He urged officials to adopt a service-orientated mindset and to treat citizens respectfully, noting that people expect justice and effective services from the administration.

To prevent public hardship during the month of Ramadan, the Land Minister instructed officials to make special preparations, stressing coordinated efforts in market monitoring, law and order, and public services. He also called for strict enforcement of a ‘zero tolerance’ policy on drugs.

The minister highlighted that Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is working eighteen hours a day for national development, and under his leadership, the announced 31-point agenda will be implemented in a coordinated manner.

He further stated that in the post-election period, all government departments will operate within the constitutional framework, and that the law will take its course.

He also emphasised the implementation of canal excavation and tree-planting programmes to accelerate development activities.

The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid.

Special guests included Member of Parliament Shafiqul Haque Milan, Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, Director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Brigadier General PKM Masud-Ul-Islam, Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhter, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan and BNP Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary and former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul.

Officials present at the meeting highlighted various field-level challenges and opportunities, expressing hope that the exchange would strengthen transparency, accountability, and coordination in administrative activities.
