Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu on Sunday called on government officials to uphold patriotism, honesty and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities, stressing that public administration must become more responsive and citizen-focused.
Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with district-level officials at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference room in Lalmonirhat, the minister said efficient service delivery is essential to building public trust in state institutions.
“Government offices exist to serve the people. Civic services must be delivered smoothly, conveniently and within the shortest possible time,” he said, urging officials to prioritise public welfare in every decision.
Dulu emphasised that transparency and accountability should be ensured at all tiers of administration to prevent irregularities and strengthen governance.
He noted that a people-friendly administration would not only improve service delivery but also reinforce confidence in democratic institutions.
Highlighting the importance of integrity in public service, the minister said officials must work with sincerity and a sense of national duty.
“Patriotism is reflected in how responsibly we perform our duties. The people expect honesty and dedication from us,” he added.
Local lawmakers Md Hasan Rajib Pradhan and Md Rokon Uddin Babul attended the meeting as special guests, while Lalmonirhat DC HM Rakib Haider presided over the session.
The meeting included discussions on improving coordination among departments, accelerating development activities and addressing local administrative challenges to ensure better public services across the district.
