University of Dhaka Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan has submitted his resignation.
Dr Khan met Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Sunday to hand over his resignation letter, according to Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Director of Public Relations at the university.
The resignation letter will be forwarded to the President, who serves as Chancellor of the university, through the proper procedure.
During the meeting, the Education Minister sought the outgoing Vice-Chancellor’s views on a range of issues, including the university’s current challenges and future prospects.
Dr Khan briefed the minister on matters relating to academic and research activities, strategic planning, and campus security and stability.
He also expressed his willingness to continue contributing to the development of Dhaka University and the broader education sector in Bangladesh.
