The administrators of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Khulna, Sylhet, Narayanganj and Gazipur city corporations paid a courtesy call on Salahuddin Ahmed, who is also a member of the BNP National Standing Committee, at his office in Dhaka.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the minister welcomed the administrators and congratulated them on assuming their new responsibilities. He emphasised the importance of efficient coordination between city authorities and law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety and uninterrupted municipal services.
The administrators were appointed through a notification issued on 22 February 2026 by the City Corporation-1 branch of the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

Urban infrastructure management, waste disposal, traffic coordination and public safety were identified as key governance priorities.
The administrators sought full cooperation from the Home Ministry in carrying out their duties and pledged to work with sincerity and a service-orientated approach for the development of their respective cities.
Salahuddin Ahmed assured them of the government’s support in maintaining law and order and facilitating smooth operational coordination between municipal authorities and security agencies.
The meeting underscores the government’s focus on reinforcing institutional capacity at the city corporation level, particularly in Dhaka and other major urban centres where service delivery and public safety remain central policy priorities.
