The Bangladesh Embassy in Doha has issued a special security alert for Bangladeshi expatriates in Qatar in response to rising tensions in the Middle East following the Iran-Israel conflict.

The emergency notice, released on Saturday, urged expatriates to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to ensure their safety amid the evolving regional situation.

In the advisory, the embassy advised Bangladeshi nationals to avoid unnecessary outdoor movement and to stay away from military facilities, government installations, and other potentially sensitive areas. Expatriates have been requested to remain in safe locations until the security situation stabilises.

The embassy also recommended that community members keep essential documents and supplies readily available at all times. These include their Qatar ID (QID), health card, necessary medications, sufficient dry food, emergency cash and mobile phone chargers to prepare for possible disruptions.

Additionally, expatriates have been reminded to respect and comply with Qatar’s local laws and regulations.

The embassy specifically cautioned against sharing photos, videos, or content related to the ongoing conflict on social media, warning that such actions could violate local laws and lead to legal consequences.

Authorities urged maximum caution and responsible online behaviour.

For emergency assistance, Bangladeshi nationals in Qatar have been advised to contact the embassy hotline at +974 33662000 or reach out via email at [email protected]

The embassy said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates if necessary.
