Bangladesh embassies issue safety advisories for expatriates in Middle East

Bangladeshi embassies in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq and Bahrain have issued emergency advisories urging expatriates to remain vigilant amid escalating regional tensions linked to the ongoing Iran–US-Israel conflict.

Diplomatic missions in the four countries advised nationals to avoid unnecessary movement, stay away from military installations and remain indoors unless travel is absolutely essential. Expatriates were also instructed not to gather in open areas and to comply strictly with local laws and official directives issued by host governments.

 

Kuwait

The Embassy of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Kuwait urged Bangladeshi nationals residing in Kuwait to remain on high alert amid the outbreak of war in the surrounding region.

In a statement dated on Saturday, the embassy requested all Bangladeshi expatriates to exercise special caution due to the evolving security situation.

For safety reasons, they have been advised to stay away from military installations, remain indoors at their residences or in secure locations, and avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary.

The embassy also urged nationals to keep essential items ready at all times, including cash, Kuwait Civil ID, health insurance card, necessary medicines, mobile phones, chargers, dry food and drinking water.

Bangladeshis in Kuwait have been asked to comply with the laws of Kuwait and follow all instructions and advisories issued by the Kuwaiti government.

The notice further advised refraining from spreading or sharing any rumours, images, or videos related to the current situation on social media.

The notice was signed by Mohammad Moniruzzaman, counsellor and head of Chancery at the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait.

 

UAE

The Embassy of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi has issued an emergency notice urging Bangladeshi nationals residing in the United Arab Emirates to remain vigilant due to the ongoing war situation and the resulting regional tensions.

In a notice, the embassy advised all Bangladeshi expatriates in the UAE to exercise special caution amid the evolving circumstances.

For security reasons, they have been requested to stay away from any military installations, remain indoors at their residences or in safe places and avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary.

They have also been advised not to gather in open areas.

The embassy urged citizens to keep essential items ready at all times, including cash, Emirates ID, passport, necessary medicines, mobile phones and chargers, as well as adequate food and drinking water.

Bangladeshi nationals have been asked to strictly follow the laws and instructions issued by the UAE government.

Iraq

The Embassy of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Baghdad has issued an emergency notice urging Bangladeshi nationals residing in Iraq to remain alert in light of the ongoing war situation between Iran and Israel and the resulting regional tensions.

In the advisory, the embassy requested all Bangladeshis in Iraq to exercise heightened caution for their safety.

They have been advised to stay away from military installations and remain indoors at their residences or in safe locations.

The notice also urged expatriates to comply with Iraqi laws and strictly follow any instructions or directives issued by the Government of Iraq.
