Four Bangladeshi workers were injured in a drone attack at Kuwait International Airport on Saturday amid rising military tensions across the Middle East.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait confirmed the information on Sunday, stating that the incident occurred around 6pm local time as regional hostilities intensified following escalations involving Iran and allied forces.
The injured workers are currently receiving treatment at Farwaniya Hospital, a government medical facility in Kuwait.
Embassy officials said they are closely monitoring their condition and ensuring necessary medical support.
Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Kuwait Major General Syed Tareq Hossain visited the hospital to assess the situation and meet the injured nationals, according to diplomatic sources.
The reported drone incident in Kuwait came after heightened military activity across the region and reports of strikes targeting multiple locations.
Regional authorities have confirmed increased security alerts at key installations and infrastructure sites.
The escalation has raised serious concerns about the safety of Bangladeshi migrant workers in Gulf countries, where hundreds of thousands are employed in construction, transport, domestic work and other sectors.
The embassy stated that it is maintaining close coordination with local authorities and monitoring developments to ensure the safety and welfare of Bangladeshi citizens.
Officials urged expatriates to remain vigilant and follow security advisories issued by host country authorities.
