Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday, where the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, covering a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
Key areas of discussion included collaboration on safe city initiatives and database registration systems, enhanced counter-terrorism cooperation, and closer engagement between the police academies of Bangladesh and Pakistan. Both sides explored opportunities to share expertise and best practices in law enforcement training and urban security management.
The talks also touched on matters related to the exchange of criminals or prisoners, potential cooperation in drone technology, and broader regional developments. Overall bilateral relations and prospects for expanding institutional partnerships were also reviewed.
At the outset, the home minister welcomed the High Commissioner and expressed hope that the longstanding relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan would continue to grow stronger through practical cooperation and sustained dialogue.
In response, the High Commissioner congratulated the minister on assuming his new responsibilities and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing engagement and collaboration across sectors of shared interest.
