PM reassigns portfolios of eight state ministers

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reshuffled the responsibilities of eight state ministers, redistributing portfolios across several key ministries.

A notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday confirmed the changes.

According to the gazette, Md Shariful Alam, who had been overseeing the Ministries of Commerce, Industries, and Textiles and Jute, will now serve as state minister for the Ministry of Textiles and Jute only.

Sultan Salauddin Tuku, previously in charge of the Ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, and Food, has been assigned responsibility solely for the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.

Habibur Rashid, who earlier supervised the Ministries of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, has been designated state minister for the Ministry of Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division.

Meanwhile, Md Rajib Ahsan, who also had responsibilities in the same cluster of ministries, will now oversee the Ministry of Shipping and the Bridges Division.

Zonaed Abdur Rahim Saki, formerly entrusted with the Ministries of Finance and Planning, has been appointed state minister for the Ministry of Planning.

Farzana Sharmin, who had been responsible for both the Ministries of Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare, will now head the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Md Nurul Haque, previously handling the Ministries of Labour and Employment and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, has been assigned to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

In addition, Bobby Hajjaj, who had been in charge of both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, will now serve as state minister for the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
