The Bangladesh embassy in Beirut has advised Bangladeshi nationals to leave several areas of the Lebanese capital and move to safer locations as Israeli military operations in southern Beirut intensify.
In a special security advisory issued on Sunday, the Bangladesh embassy urged citizens living in Beirut’s southern suburbs, including Dahiyeh, Burj al-Barajneh and Hadath, to relocate immediately and remain alert due to the worsening security situation.
The embassy said the warning was issued following ongoing Israeli strikes and military operations targeting parts of southern Beirut, which have increased tensions and raised safety concerns for residents in nearby neighbourhoods.
Bangladeshi nationals living in the affected areas have been asked to take precautionary measures and seek shelter in safer locations to ensure their safety.
Embassy officials also urged citizens to remain vigilant, closely follow local authorities’ instructions and avoid travelling to high-risk zones while the security situation continues to evolve.
Local residents have also begun moving to safer areas as the conflict intensifies in parts of the Lebanese capital, according to local reports.
The Bangladesh mission said it will continue monitoring developments and provide further guidance to citizens if the security situation deteriorates further.
Lebanon has a significant Bangladeshi expatriate community, many of whom work in domestic services, hospitality and other sectors in Beirut and surrounding areas.
Authorities have urged expatriates to prioritise safety and remain in contact with the embassy during the ongoing conflict.
