A delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj at the Secretariat.
The meeting took place at the state minister’s office at the Secretariat at noon, according to a press release.
At the start of the meeting, Gi Soon Song, director of the Human and Social Development Sector of ADB, congratulated Bobby Hajjaj on his victory in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and expressed hope that the two sides would build more positive and constructive relations in the coming days.
During the discussion, the state minister expressed sincere gratitude for ADB’s past and ongoing cooperation in Bangladesh’s education sector.
He sought stronger and more comprehensive support from the ADB for integrating modern technology into primary education and establishing smart classrooms in every school nationwide.
The meeting also covered issues of public importance, including the country’s overall development situation, challenges in implementing education-related projects, human resource development, and the expansion of technical education.
The ADB delegation commended the government’s initiatives to reform primary education in Bangladesh and assured continued support for implementing these projects.
ADB Senior Education Officer Md Yasin Arafat and Project Officer (Education) Faiza Ahad was also present at the meeting.
