Indian President Droupadi Murmu has expressed India’s eagerness to work closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen bilateral relations and promote peace, stability and prosperity across the region.
In a letter addressed to Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin on the eve of the Great Independence and National Day, President Droupadi Murmu extended warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to the government and people of Bangladesh.
“On behalf of the government and people of India, and on my own behalf, I convey my warmest regards to you and to the friendly people of Bangladesh on the occasion of your National Day,” she wrote.
Highlighting the historical and cultural bonds between the two countries, she noted that Bangladesh and India share a long and intertwined history, strong cultural linkages and enduring linguistic traditions, which form the foundation of their close and cooperative relationship.
Droupadi Murmu emphasised the achievements of the two nations in advancing people-centric development.
She mentioned significant progress in sectors such as regional connectivity, trade, energy and power, development cooperation, education, and capacity-building initiatives, which have delivered tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the border.
She concluded her message by reaffirming India’s commitment to further deepening the partnership and fostering mutual collaboration in areas of shared interest for the prosperity of both nations.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day, Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin extended his heartfelt greetings and warm felicitations to all Bangladeshis, both at home and abroad, marking the significance of the historic day.
