Meritorious candidate will not be left out from teacher recruitment: Education Minister

Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said no meritorious candidate will be dropped from teacher recruitment under any circumstances.

“If there is any weakness in the recruitment process, I will examine it thoroughly, even at the micro level. No meritorious candidate will be left out. If such incidents occurred in the past, we will take necessary action,” he said.

The minister said this while addressing the orientation of freshers at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) here on Friday.

The minister said furthermore, “We promise that we will stand by you and work for your development. However, you must score brilliant result. Best result will be the benchmark of your development. Good result will ensure your development.”

The education minister noted that students of the public universities pursue their education with government funds and an institution spends around Taka 8 lakh annually for every student. Therefore, students have a responsibility for the people,” he said.

Urging the students to use their best time as long as they remain in the university, the minister said “You must utilize every moment for your studies.”

The event was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Enamul Haque. Among others, Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Akhtaruzzaman Mia, local parliament members Manjurul Islam, Sadik Riaz Chowdhury Pinak, Syed Jahangir Alam and Pro-VC Prof. Shafiqul Islam Sikder, and Treasurer Prof. M. Jahangir Kabir also spoke on the occasion.
