Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the government is working to improve the quality of education and the quality of teaching.
“Improving the quality of education is the government’s agenda. We have to move forward in the development of teachers and the education system,” he said.
He remarked this in the speech of the chief guest at a research report presentation ceremony at a hotel in Dhaka on Thursday.
Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon said that there is no other option but to build the future generation through education. People of the country are investing maximally in human resource development. Parents are spending the maximum for their children.
“We are in global competition. To build the future of Bangladesh, everyone must work together,” the Minister further said
At that time, Milon added that he served as the state minister of the Ministry of Education about 20 years ago. But even after this long time, he does not see any significant improvement in the activities of the ministry.
“The government is investing heavily in the education sector through the ‘Learning with Happiness’ programme,” he further mentioned.
"The Primary Education Development Program (PEDP)-5 allocates Tk 51 thousand crore. Earlier, 32 thousand crore rupees were spent on PEDP-4,” he said.
Apart from this, Deepa Shankar, Head of Education, UNICEF Bangladesh, spoke at the event.
