On Saturday, Md Asaduzzaman, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, asked judges to uphold justice by making responsible decisions when rendering verdicts.
As judges, you should constantly strive to make the best choices in a right path.
“On behalf of the government, we are saying ensure justice, and we are on your side,” he continued. As the primary guest at the Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) complex in the capital this morning, the law minister spoke at the opening ceremony of the 20th Orientation Course for Additional District and Sessions Judges.
“The administration wants the public’s trust in judges to increase,” he said.
“You will always find the administration beside you for the goal of establishing justice in society. The people have given us the mandate,” the Minister added.
“Our honourable prime leader often says something that we have started following all the time. He (PM) says that responsibility and making the proper choices are more important at work than popularity. As a result, we must always make the correct decision in every circumstance,” Asaduzzaman remarked, referring to the prime minister’s vision.
The law minister stated he is aware of his limitations and is not concerned about the length of his tenure.
He said, “I have always made the correct decisions in the responsibilities assigned to me, and I always will.”
Additionally, the minister warned that corruption of any kind would not be accepted and advised judges to exercise caution in this area.
“The fight to advance this institution and the long-standing efforts we have undertaken together to establish a field of justice for the people of Bangladesh will not be accomplished if we fail to do so. Human rights and the rule of law will also fall, he declared.
Md. Asaduzzaman continued, “We do not want our next generation to bear the burden of our failure in the future.”
Members of the Law Commission, trainees from the workshop, representatives and staff of the Bangladesh Judicial Administration and Training Institute, as well as members of the media, attended the event, which was chaired by Md Emdadul Haque, Director General of JATI.
