BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has described motherhood as an immeasurable force in human life, saying that the word “Mother” may be small, but its meaning and depth are infinite.

In a message issued on the occasion of Mother’s Day on Sunday, he said that from birth to death, a mother remains the ultimate refuge for every individual. He added that the emotional and moral foundation of a person’s life is deeply rooted in a mother’s care, sacrifice, and guidance.

Mirza Fakhrul extended greetings and best wishes to mothers in Bangladesh and across the world, wishing them good health and well-being. He noted that while a mother deserves respect every day of the year, Mother’s Day serves as a special reminder to express that love more openly and collectively.

He further said that a mother plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s future, stating that behind every success story lies a mother’s dedication, effort, and unwavering commitment. According to him, mothers represent a continuous source of strength, enduring hardship to raise their children.

The BNP leader also referred to former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, highlighting her contributions to women’s empowerment and national development. He said her role in Bangladesh’s socio-economic progress has been widely acknowledged both at home and abroad.

Mirza Fakhrul described Khaleda Zia as a symbol of democratic struggle, saying she remained steadfast despite political challenges. He added that she is often respected as the “Mother of Democracy” for her role in restoring democratic practices.

He concluded by praying for Khaleda Zia’s eternal peace and for Allah to grant her a place in Jannah.
