PM to inaugurate Land Service Fair 2026 on Tuesday

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the “Land Service Fair-2026” on Tuesday at Bhumi Bhaban in the Tejgaon area of the capital.

Land Minister Md Mizanur Rahman Minu confirmed the matter at a press conference held at the Ministry of Land on Monday, adding that the fair will be observed simultaneously across all districts and upazilas after the central inauguration in Dhaka.

The three-day fair will run from 19 to 21 May.

State Minister for Land Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, Senior Secretary of the ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed, and Additional Secretaries Md Emdadul Haque Chowdhury and Nasrin Jahan were present at the briefing.

The land minister said the main objective of the fair is to make land services more citizen-friendly through automation and to raise public awareness about digital land management systems.

This year’s theme of the fair is “Citizen-friendly automated land management, secure land and prosperous future,” he added.

According to him, land services have already become easier and more transparent through digitisation, and the fair will help citizens become more familiar with these services while also enabling some services to be delivered on the spot.

Citizens will receive information and assistance related to land portal registration, e-mutation applications, online payment of land development tax, and access to khatian, DCR and mouza maps. Some services, including e-mutation submission, certified khatian copies and land development tax payments, will be directly available at the fair venues.

The ministry also said compensation for land acquisition will be distributed through the fair.

Hotlines 16122 and 01706888787 will be promoted widely to handle land-related complaints, while an informational booklet titled “Bhumi Amar Thikana” will be distributed to help citizens understand services in simple language.

The ministry is also working to introduce digital surveys, land zoning and immediate issuance of ownership certificates after land purchase. Plans are underway to integrate land offices and sub-registrar offices through a unified digital registration and e-mutation system.

Extensive publicity is being carried out through media, social platforms, educational institutions and religious centres to ensure the success of the fair.

After the inauguration, the Prime Minister will visit stalls at Bhumi Bhaban and inspect various service points, including the call centre, citizen service centre and daycare facility.

Officials said the fair aims to reduce manual processes, increase transparency and strengthen public trust in land administration by bringing services closer to citizens.
