Prime Minister Tarique Rahman joined the 46th National Rally of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) on Wednesday morning.
The PM arrived at the parade ground of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy at Safipur in the Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur district around 10:00 am.
On his arrival, the prime minister was received by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Manzur Morshed Chowdhury and Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud.
Later, Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the martyrs of the Great War of Liberation in 1971 by placing wreaths at the monument of the valiant sons of the soil.
He then took a seat on the stage at the parade ground when an attractive drill on the July Mass Uprising (2024) was displayed. After the completion of the performance, the Prime Minister approached the participating members and shook hands with them.
Cabinet members, Members of Parliament and directors of Ansar and VDP were present at the colourful event.
