Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday held a courtesy meeting with representatives of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), where discussions were held on rehabilitation services and support systems for persons with disabilities.
The meeting took place in the afternoon at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat.
During the meeting, officials from the CRP briefed the Prime Minister on the organisation’s ongoing activities, including medical care, rehabilitation programmes and support services for individuals living with paralysis and other physical disabilities.
They also highlighted various initiatives aimed at improving long-term rehabilitation facilities and expanding access to treatment and care for affected individuals across the country.
The discussion further focused on strengthening existing rehabilitation services and exploring ways to enhance institutional and community-based support mechanisms for people with disabilities.
CRP Founder Trustee Dr Valerie Ann Taylor, Executive Director Dr Mohammad Sohrab Hossain, Trustee Chairman Muhammad Saidur Rahman, Trustee Mushtak Ahmed, along with other senior officials of the organisation, attended the meeting.
Authorities said the exchange of views emphasized continued cooperation between government-level stakeholders and rehabilitation service providers to improve accessibility and care for persons with disabilities.
