Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed appreciation for the quick action taken by the law and order and judicial authorities in the Ramisa Akter murder case, praising their role in identifying, arresting, and processing the accused within a short timeframe.

The remarks came during a Business Advisory Committee meeting held on Sunday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, according to a press release issued by the Parliament Secretariat.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister specifically acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and relevant law enforcement agencies. He said their coordinated response in the case of the brutal killing of eight-year-old Ramisa Akter, a second-grade student of Popular Model High School in Pallabi, reflected strong institutional commitment to justice and public safety.

The press release noted that the Prime Minister appreciated how quickly investigators were able to trace the suspects and bring them under legal procedures. He described the progress as an example of efficient governance in addressing serious crimes.

Tarique Rahman also expressed hope that the judicial process in the case would be completed in a fair and timely manner, ensuring that those found guilty receive punishment according to the law.

He urged law enforcement personnel, investigators, and related officials to maintain the same level of professionalism and dedication in future cases to ensure continued protection of citizens.

Participants at the meeting also reportedly welcomed the swift progress in the case, describing it as a positive example of coordinated institutional action.

The Prime Minister further reiterated the government’s commitment to a “zero tolerance” policy against crime, stressing that it would continue to guide law enforcement efforts going forward.
