PM reaches Sreemangal for Family Card distribution

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar District on Wednesday noon to take part in a series of Family Card distribution programmes for local residents.

According to Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon, the Prime Minister reached the Victoria High School ground in Sreemangal at around 1:03pm, where the first phase of the programme was scheduled.

Earlier in the day, he departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at approximately 9:38am and arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport around 10:20am. Upon arrival, he was received by political leaders from the Sylhet division as well as senior government officials.

After exchanging greetings with those present at the airport, the Prime Minister travelled by road to Moulvibazar District to continue his scheduled engagements.

At Victoria High School ground, he is set to inaugurate a Family Card distribution initiative under which 155 families from Ward No. 1 of Mirzapur Union in Sreemangal Upazila will receive assistance.

Later at around 2:30pm, he will attend a second distribution programme at the Moulvibazar Government High School ground, where additional families from Ward No-7 of Tengra Union in Rajnagar Upazila will also receive cards.

Following the programmes, the Prime Minister is expected to visit DuSai Resort to participate in a meeting with local party leaders.

He will later travel back to Sylhet and depart for Dhaka by air in the evening after completing his day-long schedule in the region.
