SSC results to be released on 20 July: Education Minister

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced that the results of this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations will be published on 20 July, highlighting that the exams were completed successfully without any incidents of question paper leaks.

The minister made the announcement on Thursday while addressing reporters at a briefing related to the upcoming Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament.

Speaking at the event, Ehsanul Hoque Milon expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the nationwide examinations, noting that authorities were able to maintain discipline and transparency throughout the process.

"The SSC examinations were held smoothly, and there were no question paper leaks. We are set to publish the results within two months of the completion of the examinations, on 20 July," he said.

The programme also featured remarks from Prime Minister's Education Adviser Mahdi Amin, who outlined the government's broader plans for educational reform. He said efforts are underway to reduce the gap between urban and rural education by ensuring more equitable opportunities for students across the country.

Mahdi Amin stressed that education should not be limited to academic learning alone. According to him, the government intends to place greater emphasis on sports, creativity and extracurricular activities as part of a holistic approach to student development.

He revealed that sports and cultural education will be made compulsory at the primary level, a move aimed at nurturing students' physical, social and creative abilities alongside their classroom studies.

The adviser also confirmed that the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament will be held at Army Stadium on 20 June. He added that Prime Minister Tarek Rahman is expected to attend the event, underscoring the government's commitment to promoting sports among young learners.

Officials believe the planned reforms and expanded focus on sports and cultural activities will contribute to building a more balanced and inclusive education system for future generations.
