State Minister for the Road Transport and Highways Division Habibur Rashid has said that action is essential to building a prosperous Bangladesh, stressing that government services must reach citizens without delay.

Speaking at a cheque distribution programme for funds under the Rural Infrastructure Development Project at the Madartek Abdul Aziz School and College ground in Sabujbagh thana, he said the Prime Minister’s directive was to stand beside people, serve them and ensure services reach their doorstep.

He said the government had brought the initiative directly to citizens so they would not need to visit offices repeatedly to collect allocated funds. “We want actions, not empty speeches,” he said.

Habibur Rashid also said the government’s position on terrorism, extortion and drugs was firm and uncompromising. He warned that those involved in such activities or attempting to create disorder would face strict action.

He called for national unity to support development efforts and to prevent the spread of drugs, extortion and violence. “We will build a better Bangladesh of the future through our work,” he added.

Earlier, the state minister inaugurated a free health camp organised by Square Pharmaceuticals at a madrasa in the same area.

Leaders from the Khilgaon, Sabujbagh, Mugda and Maniknagar thana units of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its associate organisations were also present at the event.
