Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday formally inaugurated a nationwide tree plantation programme for secondary educational institutions by planting a sapling on the premises of the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Centre here.
Under the slogan “One Child, One Tree", the Prime Minister simultaneously inaugurated the camping in over 29,000 secondary schools across the country virtually.
He also joined a national event, the “Startup, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing” exhibition organised by the Ministry of Education at the venue.
During the event, the Prime Minister toured the exhibition stalls and visited the innovative projects displayed by students from schools across the country.

The students presented the features and potential benefits of their projects. The Prime Minister praised their innovative work and encouraged them to continue pursuing creativity and scientific innovation.
The Prime Minister’s spouse Dr Zubaida Rahman; Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon; the Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam; Education Adviser Mahdi Amin; Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar; Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly; and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman were present, among others.
