139 hospitalised with dengue in Bangladesh over 24 hours

A total of 139 people were admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh with dengue during the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS said 30 of the newly admitted patients were in the Barishal Division outside city corporation areas, 16 in the Chattogram Division, 23 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 27 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 11 in the Mymensingh Division, 25 in the Khulna Division and seven in the Rajshahi Division, all outside city corporation areas unless otherwise stated.

The latest data brings the total number of dengue cases reported this year to 6,597.

During the same period, 141 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, raising the total number of recoveries in 2026 to 6,130.

No dengue-related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, leaving this year's death toll unchanged at 19.

For comparison, Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in 2025, according to DGHS data.
