Seven children died with suspected measles in the 24 hours to 8:00 am on Sunday, taking Bangladesh's combined total of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths this year to 738, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest fatalities have been classified as suspected measles deaths. With the new figures, the number of suspected measles-related deaths has risen to 645, while the number of laboratory-confirmed deaths remains unchanged at 93.
The DGHS also reported 925 new suspected measles cases during the reporting period, bringing the nationwide total to 105,618.
Meanwhile, 106 new laboratory-confirmed infections were recorded, raising the cumulative number of confirmed measles cases to 12,632.
Since 15 March, a total of 88,844 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 85,122 have recovered, according to the latest DGHS data.
