Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited BNP Media Cell Convener Prof Dr Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel at a private hospital in Dhaka on Saturday, where he is receiving treatment following a cardiac-related health emergency.
The party chairman arrived at Continental Hospital PLC, formerly known as United Hospital, in the Gulshan area at around 4:00pm, according to BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
During the visit, Tarique Rahman met the medical team overseeing Pavel’s treatment and received an update on his condition from the attending physicians. He expressed his concern for Pavel’s wellbeing and conveyed his wishes for a swift recovery.
He also asked the relevant authorities to ensure that Pavel receives the highest standard of medical care throughout his treatment.
Pavel was taken ill on Thursday after experiencing severe chest pain at his home in Bogura. He was initially admitted to TMSS Hospital, where he received emergency medical attention.
As his condition required specialised care, he was transferred to Dhaka by air ambulance on Friday afternoon. He was later admitted to Continental Hospital PLC, where he is being treated under the supervision of Prof Dr NAM Momenuzzaman.
Hospital authorities have not yet released further details regarding his medical condition or indicated when he may be discharged.
