The government of Bangladesh will continue to support talented and financially struggling students through dedicated scholarships and financial aid. The promise aims to ensure that young people can finish their education without any interruptions caused by poverty.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu announced the policy while speaking as the chief guest at a scholarship distribution event. The ceremony took place at the Rajshahi Zila Parishad Auditorium, where funds were given to talented and underprivileged local students.
The minister explained that learning is the main force behind national development and progress. However, many talented young people still face great uncertainty about their studies because of severe financial problems.
The politician stated that the students of today will build the Bangladesh of tomorrow. Because of this, the government is running multiple assistance programmes so that no bright student faces obstacles in school. Describing spending on schools as an investment in the future of the nation, the minister shared the primary goal of the state.
The objective is to create an educational system where no one loses the chance to grow their talents due to a lack of money. The official also called on wealthy members of the community, local leaders, and charity groups to help. He asked them to play a larger role in expanding learning opportunities alongside current state projects.
The minister pointed to the rising costs of university courses and the growing financial pressures on modern families. He noted that funding schemes at both the state and local levels are becoming vital to help students remain in the classroom.
The event was led by Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali. The administrator confirmed that the local council remains deeply committed to supporting disadvantaged youth through student-friendly policies.
A total of 24.10 lakh taka was distributed among 482 students during the event. The recipients had achieved excellent results in their recent Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate examinations. Each selected student received a one-time financial grant of 5,000 taka to help cover their upcoming academic costs.
A large number of senior officials and public representatives attended the ceremony. The guest list included lawmakers Shafiqul Haque Milan and Professor Nazrul Islam, along with city official Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.
