State Minister for Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Railways Habibur Rashid Habib on Sunday said that the government is making every effort to stand by the people despite its limited capacity.

He made the remarks while addressing a function at Basabo Community Centre here as the chief guest, where cheques were given to the underprivileged and destitute people with the support of the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry.

The state minister said, "The Dhaka-9 constituency is one family. Together, we are trying to stand by everyone with the limited resources available to us. This initiative has already begun.”

He added, “We want to move forward together with everyone. We intend to make the best possible use of whatever capacity we have.”

The state minister expressed his gratitude to the officials of the Management and Relief Ministry and the local administration for their sincere efforts to serve the people despite the rain.

Referring to the challenges faced by the country, Habib said, “As you have seen, this government has confronted various natural disasters and a number of external challenges.

Even so, the Prime Minister has continued to work to stand by the people and ease their sufferings.

“As the Dhaka-9 family, we are with you, will remain by your side and will move forward together in the future," he continued.

Leaders and activists of the local Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) attended the event.
