HSC and equivalent examinations will continue according to the existing timetable across most of Bangladesh, while previously announced postponements will remain in force for candidates under the Chattogram Education Board and certain examinations conducted by the Madrasah and Technical Education Boards in the region.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee confirmed the decision in a statement issued on Sunday, providing fresh guidance for students ahead of this week’s examinations.
According to the committee, candidates registered under the Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Sylhet, Barishal, Dinajpur and Mymensingh Education Boards will sit their examinations as originally scheduled. The same applies to examinations conducted by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board outside the areas covered by the Chattogram Education Board.
The committee said the existing examination timetable would remain in effect until further notice for these boards.
However, students under the Chattogram Education Board will continue to face disruption, with examinations scheduled for 13, 15 and 16 July remaining postponed.
The decision also applies to candidates of the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board whose examination centres fall within the jurisdiction of the Chattogram Education Board.
The postponed papers include the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Alim, HSC (Business Management and Technology), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma in Commerce examinations scheduled for those dates.
Education authorities did not announce revised dates for the postponed examinations in Sunday’s statement. Candidates affected by the suspension have been advised to follow future notices from the relevant education boards for updated schedules.
The latest announcement means the majority of HSC and equivalent candidates across the country will continue their examinations without changes, while students in the affected areas of Chattogram will have to wait for further instructions from the authorities.
