Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced that all Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees will receive full marks for questions 6 and 7 of the Physics First Paper after the questions were found to contain errors.
Speaking during the question-and-answer session in Parliament on Tuesday, the minister said the government had identified mistakes in the two questions and decided to award full marks to every candidate.
He said the current government had been in office for only four months and was not responsible for preparing the examination paper.
Addressing the Speaker, ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said the process of preparing and moderating public examination questions begins about two years in advance.
"We did not prepare these questions after assuming office. They were prepared by the moderators of the previous government," he said.
The minister added that although the current administration was not involved in preparing the paper, it had acted immediately after the errors were identified by announcing full marks for questions 6 and 7 of the HSC Physics First Paper.
