Outgoing Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan paid a farewell courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday, marking one of his final official engagements before leaving office.
According to the Bangladesh Army, the two service chiefs exchanged greetings during the meeting and discussed matters of mutual interest relating to their respective forces.
The talks reflected the continued professional relationship between the army and the navy as the country’s military leadership prepares for the transition in naval command.
General Waker-Uz-Zaman conveyed his best wishes to Admiral Hassan, expressing hope for his good health and success in the next stage of his career following his tenure as the head of the Bangladesh Navy.
Before the meeting, the Bangladesh Army honoured the outgoing naval chief with a ceremonial guard of honour at the army headquarters, recognising his service and contribution to the armed forces.
Several senior officers from the Army Headquarters were also present during the occasion.
The Bangladesh Army shared details of the farewell visit through an official Facebook post, describing the meeting as an opportunity for the two military leaders to exchange views on issues concerning their respective services.
