The Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee has dismissed as false a social media notice claiming that Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under the Chattogram Education Board will resume on 27 July according to the existing timetable.
In a notification issued on Tuesday, the committee said the document circulating online was ‘false, baseless and motivated’ and had no connection with either the Chattogram Education Board or the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee.
The clarification came after social media users widely shared the unauthorised notice, which created confusion among students and their families over the examination schedule.
Education authorities stressed that no official decision had supported the claims made in the viral post.
They urged examinees, parents, teachers, heads of educational institutions and members of the public not to accept or share unverified information circulating on digital platforms.
The committee reminded the public that all announcements relating to public examinations are released only through the official communication channels of the Ministry of Education, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee and the respective education boards. These include their official websites and verified Facebook pages.
Officials also appealed to social media users to avoid spreading rumours or misleading information that could cause unnecessary concern for candidates preparing for their examinations.
The latest warning comes as education authorities continue to encourage students and guardians to rely exclusively on official sources for any updates concerning examination schedules and related instructions.
