Outgoing Bangladesh Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan paid a farewell courtesy call on President Md Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban on Tuesday, just days before handing over command of the naval force.
During the meeting, Admiral Hasan expressed his gratitude to the president for the support extended to him throughout his tenure.
He also updated the head of state on the Bangladesh Navy’s overall development and the progress made during his time in office.
President Shahabuddin, who serves as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, thanked the outgoing Navy chief for his dedicated service and acknowledged his contributions to strengthening and modernising the Bangladesh Navy.
The president said he hoped the force would continue its development in the years ahead and maintain its progress under the new leadership.
Senior officials from the President’s Office, including secretaries, were present during the meeting.
Admiral M. Nazmul Hasan is expected to formally hand over command to the incoming Chief of Naval Staff on 23 July, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Bangladesh Navy’s leadership.
