Hasnat Abdullah, the party's southern chief coordinator, has warned that the National Citizens Party (NCP) cannot be bought with the share of parliamentary seats. He made this warning at a discussion titled 'July Charter Implementation and Constituent Assembly Elections' held at the NCP's central office in Bangla Motor in the capital on Saturday.

When asked about the seat-sharing in the national election, Hasnat said, 'We cannot be bought with seats. Even after trying to assassinate the character in the media, nothing has been done. The people, not the police or the administration as before, will play the main role in the election.'

Hasnat warned that if a government is formed again with the reasons for the July coup, it will face stiff public resistance.

Complaining that the Awami League legalized all crimes with the 1972 constitution, he said, "It is unfortunate that we were unable to reform the military, administration and media after the coup."

Hasnat said, "There is no point in considering the NCP as an enemy. If anyone can raise corruption allegations against us, I will resign from politics."

Regarding the election schedule, he said, "There is no point in the election timeline. I have no objection even if it is November-December. However, the 'rules of the game' must be abolished and elections must be held. Constituent Assembly elections must be held."
