BNP Standing Committee Member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said that the fallen Awami League has gained political benefits by creating divisions in the name of religion. The character of all Awami League members is the same. They have devoured the resources of others. They have looted the state's wealth through disappearances, murders, torture and oppression. 95 percent of the houses of Sanatan Dharma followers in Sirajganj have been taken over by Awami League miscreants.
He said these things at a discussion meeting before the Janmashtami procession of Sanatan Dharma followers in front of Maulana Bhashani College on Mujib Road in Sirajganj on Saturday morning.
Tuku said that in the past, neighbors in the neighborhood used to live together and celebrate all religious festivals together. There was no division between Hindus, Muslims and Christians. Politics created division in society. If society is kept above politics, religious differences will not divide and people of all religions will be able to live together in peace and happiness.
He said, I spoke to the followers of traditional religions after the fall of the fascist Hasina government. You should live fearlessly, do business, if someone hurts you, that hurt will hit my soul.
Stating that he dreams of turning Sirajganj into a rainbow city, he said, I want to turn Sirajganj into a city of coexistence of people of seven colors with everyone.
Under the chairmanship of Advocate Kalyan Saha, convener of the Janmashtami celebration committee, and moderated by Babu Amar Krishna Das, vice-president of the district BNP, BNP National Executive Committee member and district BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu spoke as a special guest.
At that time, all organizations and political leaders of the traditional community including the Puja Celebration Parishad were present. Satya Narayan Sarada inaugurated the procession.
