After his name was announced as the BNP candidate, Emdadul Haque Bharasha expressed his feelings to local journalists.

He said that his father, Rahim Uddin Bharasha, was elected as a Member of Parliament in Rangpur-4 constituency from BNP during the tenure of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

“If the next Jatiya Sangsad election is free and fair, this constituency will be restored,” he said.

Mithapukur Upazila BNP President Md Golam Rabbani has been announced as the candidate for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol in Rangpur-5 (Mithapukur) constituency.

Journalist and freedom fighter Khandaker Golam Mostafa Batul was elected as a Member of Parliament from the BNP in the 1979 elections in Rangpur-5 constituency.

“I strongly hope that this time we will be able to ensure the victory of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol together in this constituency,” Golam Rabbani said.

Rangpur District BNP convener Md Saiful Islam will contest the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election in Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) seat as the BNP-nominated candidate. He has been campaigning in this seat for a long time.

BNP has won this seat only once. Md Matiar Rahman Chowdhury was elected as a Member of Parliament here in the 1979 elections.

Md Saiful Islam said that BNP is a democratic party. The beauty of democracy is competitive elections.

“If people get the opportunity to vote, I am optimistic about winning this constituency this time,” he hoped.
