BNP Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku on Thursday said that if BNP comes to power through the next election, it will allocate 5 percent of the GDP to the education sector.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a views-exchange meeting on BNP’s 31-point state reform outline with students of Sirajganj Government College at the college’s Shaheed Shihab auditorium.
Tuku, also the BNP-nominated candidate from the Sirajganj-2 constituency, said students are the helmsmen of future Bangladesh, which is why BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman clearly outlined the party’s vision for an improved education system in point number 25 of the 31-point state reform programme.
On the occasion, the BNP leader also answered various questions from the students.
Principal of Sirajganj Government College Professor Muhidul Hasan chaired the meeting, while member of BNP’s National Executive Committee and General Secretary of Sirajganj District BNP Saidur Rahman Bachchu, District BNP Vice-Presidents Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana and Amar Krishna Das, and Joint General Secretary Rashedul Hasan Ranjan also spoke at the event.
