BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated on Thursday that the caretaker government system is the lifeblood of democracy.

He stated, “On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the caretaker government.” This caretaker government system was crucial to the practice and exercise of democracy in Bangladesh. “Sheikh Hasina personally killed this.”

Rizvi made these statements while serving as the keynote speaker during a medical assistance programme for families of martyrs and those injured during the July Uprising, as well as destitute, defenceless, and persecuted families.

The event was organised by Amra BNP Poribar, a BNP platform, and took place in the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Convention Hall in the city, under the guidance of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Rizvi claimed that Nazi Hasina eliminated the caretaker government system in order to maintain her control. She deceived the court and law enforcement organisations with the hopes of becoming the Maharani (Queen) of Bangladesh for life. Even when some in her own party recommended continuing the caretaker administration, she refused.”

“Today’s ruling is incredibly positive in terms of preventing any new fascists from emerging in Bangladesh. The route to revitalising democracy has once again become smooth, and the lifeblood of democracy has been revived,” he continued.

The veteran BNP leader praised Tarique Rahman’s leadership, saying, “Last time, he (Tarique Rahman) instructed the party not to celebrate his birthday, and this time too, he has instructed against taking up any programmes.”

“A greater national leader is one who has a better understanding of how his people live and what they genuinely believe. Based on this perspective, he analysed society and the state and gained a thorough understanding of the times,” he said.

The occasion featured special guests Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP Joint Secretary General and Adviser to Amra BNP Poribar, and M Rashiduzzaman Millat, BNP Central Treasurer.

Atiqur Rahman Rumon, convener of Amra BNP Poribar, presided over the ceremony.
