Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, BNP Standing Committee Member and candidate for the Chattogram-10 constituency, urged party leaders and activists on Tuesday to approach voters with respect and affability to raise their awareness of the party’s welfare-oriented politics.

“Upholding national interests, ensuring people’s welfare and guaranteeing their safety are the core principles of the politics espoused by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman,” he said.

Khasru made the remarks while addressing a views-exchange meeting with Kattali Ward BNP leaders and activists under the Chattogram-10 (Double Mooring-Pahartali) constituency at his Mehdibagh residence on Tuesday morning.

He said the party is committed to ensuring the rights of all citizens regardless of caste, creed and religion by promoting tolerance and inclusiveness.

“The main goal of the BNP’s politics is to build a stable, prosperous, and happy Bangladesh where no one is deprived of their legitimate rights, every citizen can live safely with dignity and honour, and all enjoy equal freedom to practice their religious rituals,” he added.

The BNP leader urged party activists to conduct door-to-door campaigns among all categories of voters – from affluent to marginalised groups – and motivate them to support BNP candidates.

He asked them to highlight the political ideology of Shaheed Zia and Tarique Rahman’s 31-point proposal for rebuilding the country.

Khasru said the BNP has prepared a comprehensive plan to revive the country’s weakened economy, improve healthcare and social welfare, restore law and order, create employment for a large number of jobless youth, and introduce technology-based, job-oriented education if the party is elected to form a government.

“All of us must take into account the changed public mindset, especially after the July Uprising, while shaping the politics,” he added.

Later, he held discussions with ward-level leaders and reviewed the preparations for conducting election campaigns in the area.

Presided over by Ward BNP Convenor Md Safiullah and conducted by Member Secretary Nur Selim Bangali, the meeting was also addressed by city BNP Joint Convenors Kazi Belal and Manjur Alam, former city BNP Assistant Secretary Abu Zahur, former Ward BNP Convenor Saiful Alam and former CCC Councillor Jesmin Khanam.
