BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the people of Dinajpur on Wednesday to extend their support for BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia during the forthcoming national election.
He said, “I urge everyone to pray for BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia. Give her the opportunity to develop the northern region by ensuring her overwhelming victory in the upcoming national parliamentary election in Dinajpur.”
Fakhrul made the call while speaking as the chief guest at an election street meeting organised by the Chirirbandar Upazila BNP in Ranirbandar Suihari Bazar, which falls under the Dinajpur-4 constituency.
Fakhrul said that a certain party is attempting to create chaos in the country. They assert that holding the national election and a referendum on the same day will lead to genocide in the country. 'Genocide' means mass killing. That very party was an accomplice to the genocide in 1971; now they will be allowed to commit genocide,” he said.
Alamgir further stressed the need to bring BNP to power by giving votes to the party’s ‘Dhaner Shis’ to accelerate the country’s development activities in the future. He appealed to voters to ensure the victory of the popular leader Advocate Akhtaruzzaman Mia by casting their votes for the ‘Dhaner Shis’ in the Dinajpur-4 constituency.
Md Alhaj presides over the street meeting for the BNP's nominated candidate. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, a former Member of Parliament from the Dinajpur-4 constituency, is also a member of the BNP's Central Executive Committee.
