Five Chinese specialists have come to Dhaka to help treat Khaleda Zia, the chairperson of the BNP and former prime minister, who is still in serious condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Evercare Hospital. Sources close to the BNP stated that the delegation was sent with the direct permission of President Xi Jinping of China.
Khaleda Zia, who is 80 years old, has been in intensive care since November 27 because her lungs, heart, liver, and kidneys are seriously hurt. She was first taken to the hospital on November 23 because she was having trouble breathing. Later, she was found to have a lung infection and other health problems that were merging.
BNP warns people to be careful with “inaccurate reports”
On Sunday, BNP leaders warned people not to believe the false information in the media about the former prime minister’s health.
“Madam’s condition is stable, and she is being closely watched.” There are many false stories about her out there. “No one should be fooled,” said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the secretary general of the BNP.
Concerns were raised by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, who also said that the medical team was working hard and that any news would only come from official sources.
“She is always getting care from specialist doctors.” Treatment is still going on—that’s the only new information we can confirm. “We ask everyone to pray for her healing,” he said.
The BNP has told supporters and members of the public not to gather outside of Evercare Hospital because medical processes could be slowed down by too many people.
Senior leaders have confirmed that the situation is very bad
Earlier in the day, Ahmed Azam Khan, the vice-chairman of the BNP, said that Khaleda Zia’s situation was “extremely critical,” which meant that she needed help breathing.
Press outside the hospital, he told them, “There isn’t much we can do now except ask the country to pray for her.”
A spokesman for the BNP Media Cell, Shairul Kabir Khan, told reporters not to trust unreliable sources. He said that false information was being spread on social media from fake profiles, including one that looked like her personal doctor, Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
Tarique Rahman Says He Wants to Go Back to Bangladesh
Tarique Rahman, Khaleda Zia’s older son and Acting BNP Chairman, wrote on Facebook that he wants to go back to Bangladesh to be with his mother but that the situation is too complicated for him to handle.
“At this time, I want to be with my mum like any other kid.” “But unlike other people, I can’t make that choice on my own,” he wrote.
He also told people across the country who were hoping for her recovery how much the family appreciated them.
The temporary government, which is run by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, has said that it doesn’t mind if Tarique goes back.
Medical condition: Several problems happening at the same time
Members of the medical board say that Khaleda Zia has been having serious breathing problems that are made worse by long-term lung problems.
The infection is worse because of her heart disease, which includes a permanent pacemaker, a stent, and mitral valve stenosis.
Long-term problems like cirrhosis of the liver, kidney damage, diabetes, and arthritis make treatment even harder.
Doctors say that several conditions have gotten worse at the same time, which means that the person needs special care around the clock.
The BNP has put off the “Victory Torch Roadshow”
The BNP have pushed back their planned “Victory Torch Roadshow” for December because their party chairperson’s health is getting worse.
The party has asked its members all over the country to keep hoping for her recovery.
